The Advanced Material Cluster of Catalonia will bring together experts from leading organizations in the fields of innovation and sustainability in the VIII Strategic Immersion that will be held on June 15 and 16 in Mataró. The meeting, open to the entire advanced materials sector, will be held under the motto "Towards a sustainable and innovative industry. The role of the advanced materials sector" and will have contributions from organizations that have a long history and experience in implementing strategies to improve sustainability and circularity, such as Anthesis Lavola, Lubrizol Engineered Polymers, HP, Ray Electric Engines and ALIER.

The Strategic Immersion, promoted by the MAV Cluster and which this year reaches its eighth edition, aims to promote a strategic reflection of the companies in the sector based on the analysis of market trends and emerging technologies, business challenges and opportunities, as well as sharing good practices and success stories. It is a key celebration to establish contacts and strengthen relations between the associated materials and technologies companies.

The meeting will be focused on sustainability and technological innovation, two indispensable axes in any development that, due to the climate emergency in which we find ourselves, need to be aligned. In this context, the advanced materials industry can provide new solutions, but at the same time it must face different challenges and barriers.

Thursday June 15, José Antonio Calero, president of the MAV Cluster and R&D director of the AMES company, as well as Ona Bombí, Cluster Manager of the MAV Cluster, will open the Strategic Immersion in the Hotel's facilities Athena Port of Mataró. Adrià Gelabert, Director of Clients and Markets at Anthesis Lavola, a consultancy specialized in sustainability, will give the opening speech of the day, entitled "Sustainability and challenges of the materials industry".

Gelabert will be in charge of moderating a series of presentations that will revolve around successful cases of innovation and sustainability and will be given by Maria Josep Riba, head of Global Sustainability at Lubrizol Engineered Polymers; Rocío Muñoz, expert in R+D materials and responsible for metallic materials at the European level of HP; Josep Losantos, Product Development Director of Ray Electric Motors, and Tomás Vivot, Commercial Director of ALIER.

During the meeting, different networking activities will also be held, where it will be possible to share ideas and establish new collaborations between the participants, as well as a team building activity.

The General Assembly of the MAV Cluster will take place on Friday 16 June, with the exclusive participation of members, where the Board of Directors of the MAV Cluster will be renewed. The day will be opened by an inspiring presentation given by Xavier Marcet, president of the innovation and strategy consultancy Lead to Change, who will deliver a conference entitled "The management of the 21st century".

The meeting will end with the presentation of the new members of the MAV Cluster, including Aenium, the ALBA Synchrotron, DLyte Chemicals, Equilab, Faxe, OIMO, Pangea Aerospace, Roka Furadada and VEnvirotech.
