CD6 in Terrassa will show visitors next November 13 how photonics can revolutionize industrial sectors such as agrotech, healthtech, mobility, construction and infrastructure.
Next November 13, the Sensors, Instrumentation and Systems Development Center (CD6) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), located on the Terrassa Campus, will hold an open day to publicize its technological potential in the field of photonics. The event, part of the APTE Innovation Spaces program, is aimed especially at companies looking for new ways of innovation and technological collaboration.
With the title "Visibility of innovation infrastructures and Living Labs of science and technology parks: development of applications in the field of optical engineering and photonics", the conference will focus on how technologies based on light can offer efficient and advanced solutions to real industrial challenges.
During the activity, practical cases and lines of action will be exhibited that have allowed companies and spin-offs to turn innovative ideas into functional prototypes. Applications cover sectors as diverse as automotive, health, precision agriculture or aeronautics, where photonics is consolidating as a key technology for the development of more competitive and efficient products.
The CD6, with a consolidated track record in optical and photonics engineering, will take advantage of the day to show its facilities and the recent expansion of scientific equipment, financed through public aid for research infrastructures. This renovation positions the center as a strategic ally for companies that want to promote R+D+I projects with real application in the market.
The event is aimed at technical managers, innovation directors and companies that want to explore new opportunities for collaboration with a center of reference in photonic technologies. Participation is an opportunity to connect with the technological ecosystem, learn about advanced capabilities and identify innovative solutions adapted to current industrial needs.
A program aimed at companies and innovation agents
The event will be in person, with prior registration and limited capacity, and will include an institutional presentation, examples of technological collaborations and guided tours of the CD6 laboratories, with small groups to guarantee a personalized experience. The registration form will be open until October 27.
The planned program is as follows:
The day is organized by the Scientific and Technical Service of the UPC, the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and the UPC Innovation Management Service, with the support of Terrassa City Council.
The CD6 is a reference in the development of systems based on photonics, with applications in areas such as industry, health, precision agriculture or space. With new infrastructure recently acquired thanks to public grants, the center strengthens its role as a technology partner for companies looking to innovate through advanced optical solutions.
